About Docus

Docus is an independent, plain-language reference about road rules for everyday drivers. It explains the reasoning behind common rules, how to read signs and signals, and how to behave calmly at junctions, in traffic, and in poor conditions.

Every entry follows the same seven-part shape: what the rule is really about, why it keeps everyone safer, the mistake drivers often make, a simple way to follow it, what to pair it with, when to be extra careful, and answers to common questions.

How entries are written

Entries are written from widely shared, general principles of safe and courteous driving, then edited for a general audience. They are deliberately universal, because traffic law differs from place to place. Where a rule varies, the entry says so and tells you to follow local rules, signs, and markings.

What Docus is not

Docus is not legal advice and does not state the law of any particular country, state, or city. It is not a substitute for your local driver's handbook, an official road code, or the instructions of authorities on the scene. Always follow the rules and signs where you actually drive.
